Ik moet straks een presentatie verzorgen van het “Pioniers van de nieuwe welvaart”. Het gaat over betekeniseconomie (Klomp & Maarhuis, 2018) . Wat is betekeniseconomie?: In de betekeniseconomie is de focus niet langer zo veel mogelijk geld en winst liggen, maar zo veel mogelijk op maatschappelijke meerwaarde (geluk). Dit zou passen bij de behoefte aan meer zingeving en betekenis in het werk. Mensen willen graag werken bij bedrijven die het beste met de mensheid voor hebben.

Betekenisvol ondernemen gaat over eerlijk en duurzaam zaken doen in een wereld die kampt met serieuze economische, sociale en ecologische uitdagingen. De ondernemer richt zich op de overgang naar een nieuwe economie die minder gericht is op eigenbelang, winstmaximalisatie en groei.

Op Curaçao hebben wij ze ook, maar vaak zien zij zichzelf niet zo en zien wij ze niet zo. Bijvoorbeeld, de voedselbossen of Kura di Arte en andere soortgelijke ondernemers. Ze hebben het zeker niet makkelijk, maar ze hebben enorm veel energie omdat ze zinvol bezig zijn.
